Design inspiration comes from any number of sources, and in the case of the Steele’s new kitchen, the design started with a unique farmhouse sink stored in the client’s backyard shed. Working together, Caruso Kitchen Designs guided the Steeles through the design and selection process to create a truly unique kitchen with an artistic style all its own.
Using the floral Dutch delft pattern on the apron sink as the starting point for design, grey-washed blue painted cabinets were chosen for lowers and creamy white for the uppers—both in a classic Shaker style. Installing the darker cabinet on the bottom showcases the beautiful white sink to best advantage.
Taking the cabinets to ceiling height maximizes storage space and modernizes the overall look of the kitchen.
A rich coppery brown range hood enhances the refined rustic aesthetic—reflected also in the burnished tones of cabinet hardware.
Touches that hearken back to the delft floral theme, as shown here on the splash tile that suggests the look of punched tin with a blue transferware wash.
A charming ceramic pendant light hangs over the sink, and lustrous white Lucastone countertops add upscale polish.
Knotty wood planked flooring lends warmth and character to the room.
But country charm doesn’t exclude modern accommodation! Well-placed pull-out cabinets and a dedicated coffee bar ensure that necessities are always convenient.
At Caruso Kitchens we’re all about working with you to create spaces that reflect your personality and individuality.
